Our Year In Review - 2022
Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to tell everyone what we are doing in the sustainability and eco space as well as taking the time to celebrate our big achievements. So we thought that we would take the opportunity in our end of year wrap up to give you all an update on how we gave back to our community and some of the things we achieved in the year that was, 2022.
This year we took a look back at how many nappies we have prevented from going to landfill in over a decade and are proud to announce that this equates to over 21 million nappies!
In 2022 we expanded our network of Wholesalers and Affiliates so that we can get more bums in cloth. One of our driving goals is to make cloth mainstream by making it easier for everyday parents to access information and products. Our placement in Woolworths was the culmination of years of behind the scenes work and trials. Permanent ranging in Australia’s leading supermarket chain means Reusable Nappies, Wet Bags, and Swim Nappies are now more accessible to families.
This year we had our factories audited again with flying colours!
We work closely with our factories to ensure that the people working on our products are doing so in fair and safe conditions. Due to the global pandemic we have not been able to visit our factories in recent years and one of our future goals is to be able to do so.
We won Australia’s Favourite Nappy in the 2022 My Child Awards
After over a Decade of helping families to navigate Reusable Nappies we are no stranger to winning awards. However this award meant alot to us because it is a reflection of how great our Cloth Nappies are. We have one style of OSFM which is suitable from birth to toilet training for the majority of children and this award was voted on by real customers based on real ongoing use. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us, it really does mean a-lot.
Giving Back
We gave back to our community through the donation of products to Share the Dignity, Thread Together, and Epworth Freemasons. And donated the proceeds of the sale of products from ‘Beautiful Breasts’ and ‘Peace on Earth’ to charity organisations.
AusMumpreneur Awards
Our Director, Carla Schewf, won Gold AusMumpreneur of the year in Victoria, and silver nationally and Designer Bums won Gold for Business excellence Nationally as well as for Victoria. Carla has worked hard to build her business for over a decade through designing and manufacturing products that are beautiful, thoughtful, functional, and made to last your family for years to come. She has worked hard to connect her products with families and to grow a community around her brand. As a team we are excited to see where Carla will take Designer Bums in the year to come.
